Ready to Zoom? Look for your invite on THURSDAY!

You will be receiving your personal Zoom invitation this Thursday, May 28 from Zoom. Many of you asked, and we’ve listened! We are replacing WebEx with Zoom this week for Team Leaders and Employees!

Be sure to check your “Junk” and other folders, just in case. Your WebEx account will not be going away until the second week of July, though, giving you time to learn Zoom (if you haven’t already used it), and to transition over your recurring calls. We’ll send out reminders as it gets closer.

Very important "to do" before invitation is sent:

We cannot send an invite to an address that already has a registered account. Anyone who has a personal Zoom account registered to a CC email address MUST change the registered email address before the Zoom invitations are sent this Thursday, May 28.

All of you will receive Zoom Meetings w/500 attendees. Executives, Training, Marketing, and International teams will also receive Zoom Webinar w/500 attendees, and some leadership individuals will keep WebEx due to its Learning Pathways integration.

Benefits of Zoom:

  • Easy to use
  • Newest release addresses all new security concerns
  • All Zoom video is encrypted
  • Breakout room feature
  • Whiteboard feature
  • Activated feature to link to live feeds
  • Outlook has a Zoom integration
  • A Slack/Zoom integration exists

Helpful security tips:

  • When you share your meeting link to a broad group, on social media or other public forums, that makes your event extremely public. ANYONE with the link can join your meeting. Therefore, avoid using your Personal Meeting ID (PMI) to host public events. Learn how to generate a random meeting ID (at the 0:27 mark) in this video tutorial.
• Check out the settings for screen-sharing options. There are choices, for example, to allow everyone to share, but the host has to give control before sharing can occur.

Your invitation will expire after a few days. Please diligently accept your invitation on Thursday. Doing so this Thursday, or within a day or two, will save you and our IT team time. Re-inviting is not nearly as easy as sending the invite in the first place. Thank you!
